Jonathan Matherson vs Gage Andreu

Boxing Daily Report from the North Star Boxing promoted show at Forest City Velodrome, London,  taking place on 28/07/2035:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Jonathan Matherson (10(7) - 0) who hails from Boston, USA and Gage Andreu(2 - 1) from Quebec City, Canada.  Both Matherson and Andreu weighed in at 140 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Mark Weatherley, and the three ringside judges are Theo Hamill, Rob Travis and Inigo Bennie.  

Round 1: 

Matherson lands a cross followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Andreu quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and is on target with a left hook.  
Andreu hits home with a left hook.  
Andreu throws a left hook, but Matherson ties up his opponent.  Matherson is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref breaks Matherson's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Matherson is on target with a sharp right hook.  Matherson holds on to his opponent.  Matherson tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Andreu's kidney. As they grapple, Matherson pushes his forearm into Andreu's face.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Matherson about fouling.  
Matherson lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  He continues the combination and lands a left hook to the head, a right hook to the body and a left uppercut to the head.  Matherson ties up his opponent.  Matherson hits his opponent with a kidney shot within the clinch. Matherson leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks Matherson's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Matherson throws a left hook, but his opponent steps away from the shot.  Matherson holds on to his opponent.  Matherson leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Andreu goes for the bodyshot, but lands south of the border!  The ref ignores Matherson's complaints and signals for the action to continue.  
Matherson is on target with a cross.  
Andreu drives a right hook into his opponents body.  
Matherson steps inside and lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Matherson is on target with a firm left hook to Andreu's ribs.  Matherson holds on to his opponent.  Matherson hits his opponent with a kidney shot within the clinch. As they grapple, Matherson pushes his forearm into Andreu's face.  The ref breaks Matherson's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Matherson closes the distance and lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  He follows up the attack and lands a right hook to the body, a left hook to the body and a left hook to the head.  
Matherson lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  
Matherson closes the distance and forces Andreu to retreat into the red corner.  Matherson lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Matherson drives a right hook into Andreu's body.  Matherson holds on to his opponent.  Matherson pushes his forearm into Andreu's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Matherson to stop fouling.  
Matherson digs in a right hook to Andreu's body.  
Matherson lands two right uppercuts followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Matherson lands a double left hook to his opponents head.

Matherson wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Andreu dabs at his face checking for damage.  Andreu has been damaged by that accidental headbutt.  That has caused slight swelling  around the left eye.  
Matherson drives a right hook into his opponents ribcage.  
Matherson closes the distance and is on target with a right hook to his opponents body.  
Andreu steps inside.  Matherson is on target with a left hook to Andreu's ribs.  
Matherson is on target with a cross.  
Matherson advances into close range and is on target with a left hook.  
Matherson digs in a left uppercut to his opponents body.  Matherson holds on to his opponent.  Matherson tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Andreu's kidney. 
Matherson stalks forward with a low guard, trying to draw a lead from his opponent.  Andreu drives a left hook into Matherson's body.  
Matherson advances into close range.  Andreu quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Matherson lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  He then lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Matherson walks Andreu onto the ropes.  Matherson lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  He then lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Matherson is looking to close the distance.  Matherson pivots to the side of his opponent.  Matherson throws a left hook, but is unable to get through his opponents guard.  Matherson clinches his opponent.  Matherson leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The referee separates the two fighters and warns Matherson to stop holding.  
Matherson is on target with a right uppercut to his opponents body.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Andreu dabs at his face checking for damage.  Andreu has taken some damage there.  The foul has worsened the damage  around the left eye.  
Matherson walks Andreu into the corner.  Matherson is on target with a left hook to his opponents ribs.  
Matherson lands a right uppercut to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Matherson lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.

Andreu is not fighting as well as he'd like.   He steps inside, but then strikes Matherson with a blatant low blow!  The ref signals for the action to continue.  He either hasnt noticed the blatant foul or doesnt care! 
Matherson connects with a mean cross.  ANDREU IS HURT!  
Matherson gets on the inside.  Matherson is looking to force the stoppage!  Matherson lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head, AND DROPS ANDREU TO THE CANVAS!  He is still struggling to his feet as the count reaches 10!  The winner by KO is Matherson!
