Yoshi Kanai vs Yuichi Matsuoka

Boxing Daily Report from the Montreal's Top Gym promoted show at Hanshin Racecourse, Takarazuka,  taking place on 13/07/2035:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Japan Flyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Yoshi Kanai (16(14) - 1) who hails from Akashi, Japan and Yuichi Matsuoka(24(1) - 5(1) - 2) from Takatsuki, Japan.  Kanai weighed in at 112 pounds, while Matsuoka weighed in at 112 pounds and 15 ounces.    As Matsuoka came in over the weight limit, only his opponent will be able to compete for the final eliminator position tonight.  
The referee tonight is Michi Soma, and the three ringside judges are Hiro Katayama, Kazuhiko Sugita and Kazuki Watanabe.  

Round 1: 

Matsuoka is on target with a cross.

The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Matsuoka has come off worse after that clash of heads.  That has caused slight swelling  around the right eye.

Matsuoka forces Kanai to retreat onto the ropes.  Kanai knows Matsuoka is hurt...he is putting the pressure on now, looking for the stoppage.  Kanai whips in a mean left hook to his opponents body.  MATSUOKA HAS BEEN KNOCKED DOWN!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 4.  
Kanai tries to step out of his opponents range.  Kanai lands a right hook followed by  two left uppercuts to his opponents body.  He follows up the attack and lands a right hook, right uppercut and a left uppercut to his opponents body, AND SENDS MATSUOKA TO THE CANVAS!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 4.  Matsuoka now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.  
Matsuoka tries to land a jab, but Kanai slips the shot and counters with a left uppercut to Matsuoka's body.  
Matsuoka advances into close range.  Kanai pivots from in front of his opponent.  Matsuoka throws a right hook, but Kanai holds on to his opponent.  Matsuoka uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Kanai behind the head. As they grapple, Matsuoka pushes his forearm into Kanai's face.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.
