Steven Whittet vs Rex Catherwood

Boxing Daily Report from the Montreal's Top Gym promoted show at Olympic Stadium, Montreal,  taking place on 26/05/2035:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Steven Whittet (4(2) - 0) who hails from Hamilton, Canada and Rex Catherwood(19 - 21(3) - 2) from Richmond, Canada.  Whittet weighed in at 125 pounds And 15 ounces, while Catherwood weighed in at 125 pounds And 9 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Aaron Henry, and the three ringside judges are Stephen Morton, Laurent Marceau and Nicholas Prior.  

Round 1: 

Whittet gets on the inside and is on target with a sharp left hook.  
Whittet lands a right hook to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head.  He follows up the attack and lands a right hook to the body, a left hook to the body and a left uppercut to the head.  Whittet ties up his opponent.  Whittet is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Whittet about fouling.  
Whittet hits home with a firm left hook.  Whittet holds on to his opponent.  Whittet leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Whittet walks his opponent down, trapping him in a corner.  Whittet sidesteps to the left of his opponent and digs in a right hook to his opponents ribcage.  
Whittet digs in a firm left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Catherwood tries to land a right hook, but Whittet slips the shot and counters with a solid cross.  
Catherwood throws a left uppercut, but Whittet clinches his opponent.  Whittet is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Whittet steps inside.  Catherwood throws a left uppercut, but Whittet holds on to his opponent.  Whittet leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Whittet lands a cross followed by  two jabs to his opponents head.  
Whittet throws a jab, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Whittet drives a stinging left uppercut into Catherwood's liver.  
Whittet manouvers Catherwood onto the ropes.  Whittet lands a right hook to the body, a left uppercut to the head and a right hook to the body.  Whittet holds on to his opponent.  Whittet is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  Whittet wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Catherwood dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Whittet lands a right hook.  Whittet holds on to his opponent.  Whittet pushes his forearm into Catherwood's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Whittet to stop fouling.  
Catherwood tries to land a right hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a sharp left hook.  
Whittet is looking to close the distance and lands a left uppercut.  
Whittet lands a left hook.  
Whittet connects with a firm right uppercut.  Whittet throws a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Whittet lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Whittet dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Whittet closes the distance and lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Catherwood quickly recovers. 
Whittet pivots to the side of his opponent and is on target with a left hook to Catherwood's body.  
Whittet lands a firm right uppercut.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Catherwood's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.  Catherwood's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Catherwood's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

Whittet drives a forceful right uppercut into his opponents ribs.  IT LOOKS LIKE CATHERWOOD WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  
Whittet closes the distance.  Whittet senses Catherwood is in trouble...he is looking to finish him off!  Whittet lands a right uppercut to the body, a left uppercut to the head and a right uppercut to the body, KNOCKING CATHERWOOD DOWN!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 4.  
Whittet closes the distance.  Whittet stalks his opponent...he just needs the right shot to put his opponent away!  Whittet slams a nasty right uppercut into Catherwood's body.  CATHERWOOD HAS BEEN KNOCKED DOWN!  He beats the count, getting up at 6.  It looks like Catherwood has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.

Whittet pivots to the side of his opponent.  Catherwood lands a cross.  
Whittet is looking to close the distance and lands a right hook to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body.

He unsteadily tries to get up but is unable to beat the 10 count!  The winner by KO is Whittet!
