Urvano Espana vs Joaquin Gomez

Boxing Daily Report from the Ringside Promotions promoted show at Ninoy Aquino Stadium, Manila,  taking place on 17/06/2035:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  On the line tonight is the Philippines Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Urvano Espana (20(18) - 4(3)) who hails from Santa Maria, Philippines and Joaquin Gomez(24(2) - 5(2)) from Davao City, Philippines.  Both Espana and Gomez weighed in at 160 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Gabriel Pagtakhan, and the three ringside judges are Angel Piluden, Angel Landeros and Manuel Tapina.  

Round 1: 

Espana throws a cross, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a cross.

Gomez walks Espana down, trapping him in the corner.  Gomez quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Espana tries to land a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right hook to his opponents body.  
Gomez sidesteps to the right of his opponent and is on target with a cross.

Espana gets on the inside.  Espana quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Gomez throws a left hook, but Espana holds on to his opponent.  Espana is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Espana about fouling.  
Espana steps away from his opponent and drives a solid jab into his opponents face.
