Shayan Sharif vs Dave Hughson

Boxing Daily Report from the Smokin Joe promoted show at Memorial Coliseum, Los Angeles,  taking place on 25/04/2035:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a mandatory fight for the USA Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Shayan Omar Sharif (50(48) - 0) who hails from Bakersfield, USA and Dave Hughson(52(41) - 1(1) - 1) from Oakland, USA.  Both Sharif and Hughson weighed in at 135 pounds.  
The referee tonight is David Moreman, and the three ringside judges are Amer Othman, Noel Bertram and Vicente Salido.  

Round 1: 

Sharif lands a left hook to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body.  He continues the combination and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Sharif is looking to close the distance and is on target with a left hook to Hughson's body.  Sharif throws a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Hughson quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Sharif tries to land a jab, but Hughson sidesteps and counters with a right hook.

Hughson throws a right hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a stinging right uppercut.  
Hughson attempts to land a left hook, but Sharif blocks the shot and counters with a FIERCE right uppercut.  IT LOOKS LIKE HUGHSON WAS HURT BY THAT SHOT!  
Sharif switches the action to the outside.  Some sustained pressure from Sharif could be enough to finish Hughson!  Sharif lands a left uppercut followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head, AND HUGHSON IS KNOCKED DOWN!  He beats the count, getting up at 8.  It looks like Hughson has now recovered from that shot earlier.
