Hayden Meggett vs Joshua Whittingham

Boxing Daily Report from the Showtime Promotions promoted show at Showtime Gym, Miami,  taking place on 02/11/2034:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Hayden Meggett (7(1) - 0) who hails from Toronto, Canada and Joshua Whittingham(0 - 3 - 1) from Jackson, USA.  Both Meggett and Whittingham weighed in at 168 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Paul Romans, and the three ringside judges are Joshua Vara, Robert Johnstone and Cody Grant.  

Round 1: 

Meggett voluntarily retreats back onto the ropes...he waves his opponent in!  Whittingham steps in throwing power shots but is unable to land cleanly.  
Meggett gets on the inside and hits home with a right hook.  
Meggett steps inside.  Whittingham sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Whittingham tries to land a right hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Meggett lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  Meggett ties up his opponent.  Meggett pushes his forearm into Whittingham's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Meggett is on target with a right hook to Whittingham's body.  
Meggett hits home with a hard jab.

Whittingham is looking to close the distance.  Meggett is on target with a left hook.

Whittingham throws a left hook, but Meggett holds on to his opponent.  Meggett is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Meggett.

Whittingham wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Meggett dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Meggett advances into close range and hits home with a right hook.  Meggett attempts to land a left hook, but Whittingham blocks the shot and counters with a cross.  
Whittingham pivots to the side of his opponent.  Meggett lands a right hook to the head, a right hook to the body and a left uppercut to the head.

Meggett is looking to close the distance and hits home with a left hook.  Meggett tries to land a right uppercut, but Whittingham blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Whittingham pivots to the side of his opponent.  Meggett lands a double jab to his opponents head.

At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Whittingham's trainer is advising how he could improve the accuracy of his work.
