Venacio Astorga vs Rory McWhirter

Boxing Daily Report from the Mr. Vicious promoted show at City West Hotel, Dublin,  taking place on 01/10/2034:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Venacio Astorga (5(3) - 0) who hails from Mexicali, Mexico and Rory McWhirter(14 - 18(1) - 7) from Cork, Ireland.  Both Astorga and McWhirter weighed in at 135 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Joshua Dermott, and the three ringside judges are Joshua MacCarthy, Sam McCaig and Will Nolan.  

Round 1: 

Astorga is looking to close the distance and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  He then lands a right hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  Astorga holds on to his opponent.  Astorga is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Astorga about fouling.  
Astorga walks McWhirter into the corner.  McWhirter throws a right uppercut, but Astorga holds on to his opponent.  Astorga leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. Astorga uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits McWhirter behind the head. The ref breaks Astorga's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Astorga steps inside and lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head.  Astorga holds on to his opponent.  Astorga is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. Astorga tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits McWhirter behind the head. The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Astorga about fouling.  
Astorga lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  
Astorga steps inside and drives a left hook into McWhirter's liver.  
Astorga is looking to close the distance and lands a right hook followed by  two left hooks to his opponents body.  
Astorga lands a left hook to the head followed by two left uppercut's to the body.  Astorga holds on to his opponent.  Astorga is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Astorga lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  Astorga tries to land a left hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Astorga connects with a stinging left hook.  
Astorga forces McWhirter to back into the corner.  Astorga sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Astorga throws a right uppercut, but the shot is blocked.  Astorga ties up his opponent.  Astorga is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Astorga lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Astorga lands a right hook, left uppercut and a right hook to his opponents body.  
Astorga lands a right uppercut, right hook and a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Astorga advances into close range and lands a solid right hook.  Astorga clinches his opponent.  Astorga is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Astorga steps inside.  Astorga sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Astorga lands a cross followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Astorga steps inside and is on target with a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
McWhirter is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Astorga lands a sharp cross.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...McWhirter's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.  McWhirter's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  McWhirter's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.

Astorga quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  McWhirter throws a left hook, but Astorga clinches his opponent.  Astorga is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Astorga to stop fouling.  
Astorga is on target with a stinging jab.  
McWhirter is looking to keep his distance.  Astorga feints a cross, tricking McWhirter into countering with a cross.  Astorga avoids the shot and counters with a solid right hook.  
Astorga closes the distance.  Astorga sidesteps to the left of his opponent and is on target with a left uppercut to McWhirter's liver.  
Astorga lands a sharp left hook.  
Astorga steps inside and hits home with a sharp left uppercut.  Astorga holds on to his opponent.  Astorga leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Astorga lands a right uppercut followed by  two left hooks to his opponents body.  
Astorga forces McWhirter to back into the corner.  Astorga lands two right hook's to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Astorga lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  
McWhirter steps away from his opponent.  Astorga lands an overhand right followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Astorga lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  Astorga wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as McWhirter dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Astorga digs in a stinging right hook to McWhirter's ribcage.  
Astorga pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a right hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.  
Astorga closes the distance.  Astorga pivots to the right of his opponent and drives a right hook into his opponents ribs.  
Astorga lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  He then lands a left uppercut followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  McWhirter quickly recovers. 
Astorga drives a left hook into McWhirter's body.  
Astorga is on target with a right hook to McWhirter's body.

As Astorga tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as McWhirter dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Astorga lands consecutive left uppercuts to his opponents body.  Astorga holds on to his opponent.  Astorga leans on his opponent using all his weight. The referee breaks the clinch and warns Astorga to stop holding.  
Astorga walks McWhirter onto the ropes.  Astorga lands a right hook, left uppercut and a right hook to his opponents body.  
McWhirter is looking to keep his distance.  Astorga feints a jab, but McWhirter is not fooled and lands with a left hook.  
Astorga closes the distance and lands a left hook to the body, a right hook to the head and a right hook to the body.  
Astorga is on target with a nasty right hook.  DOWN GOES MCWHIRTER!  HE UNSTEADILY TRIES TO GET UP BUT IS UNABLE TO BEAT THE 10 COUNT!  The winner by KO is Astorga!
