Ethan Shand vs Rehman Jalil

Boxing Daily Report from the Phala Promotions promoted show at Adelaide Inglish, Adelaide,  taking place on 17/08/2034:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Australia-South Australia Light Flyweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Ethan Shand (3(2) - 2) who hails from Adelaide, Australia and Rehman Jalil(8 - 10(1) - 1) from Adelaide, Australia.  Shand weighed in at 108 pounds, while Jalil weighed in at 107 pounds and 9 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Will Hammel, and the three ringside judges are Jay Keller, Kian Roland and Joel Boward.  

Round 1: 

Shand is keeping his hands low...it looks like he wants his opponent to throw first.  Jalil lands a left hook.  
Jalil is looking to close the distance.  Shand lands a right hook to the head, a left uppercut to the head and a right uppercut to the body.  
Shand lands a right hook to the body, a right hook to the head and a left hook to the head.  
Shand lands a left hook.  
Shand lands two left hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
Jalil steps inside.  Shand hits home with a sharp right uppercut.  
Jalil closes the distance.  Shand lands a right hook.  
Jalil closes the distance.  Shand lands a right hook to the head, a left hook to the head and a right uppercut to the body.  
Shand sidesteps to the right of his opponent and is on target with a firm right hook.  
Shand walks his opponent into the corner.  Shand lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
Jalil is on target with a cross.  
Shand closes the distance and lands a left hook to the head followed by a left uppercut to the body.  
Shand is looking to keep his distance.  Shand feints a right hook, and then strikes his opponents body with a jab.  
Jalil gets on the inside.  Shand lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Jalil's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.  Jalil's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.  Jalil's trainer is telling his fighter to tighten his defence.

Shand steps inside and lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  
Shand connects with a solid right hook.  
Shand sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Jalil gets on the inside.  Shand lands a stinging right hook.  
Shand lands a left hook to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  Shand holds on to his opponent.  Shand is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Shand is looking to keep the action on the outside and drives a jab into his opponents body.  
Shand hits home with a firm right hook.  
Shand tries to keep the action at long range.  Shand feints a right, and then lands an overhand left, jab and an overhand left to his opponents head.  
Shand steps inside and lands a left hook followed by  two right hooks to his opponents head.  
Shand lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Jalil quickly recovers. 
Jalil is on target with a jab.

Shand pivots to the side of his opponent and connects with a solid right hook.  
Shand steps to the outside and tries to land a cross, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Shand is looking to close the distance.  Shand quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Jalil tries to land a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a stinging cross.  
Shand advances into close range.  Shand pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a double right hook to his opponents head, AND SENDS JALIL TO THE CANVAS!  He beats the count, getting up at 5.  Jalil quickly recovers. 
Jalil throws a left hook, but Shand clinches his opponent.  Jalil uses his free hand to throw a body hook, but it lands on Shand's kidney. The referee breaks the clinch and warns Jalil to stop fouling.  
Jalil throws a right hook, but the shot is blocked.  Shand ties up his opponent.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Shand lands a left hook followed by  two right hooks to his opponents head.  
Shand lands a right uppercut.  
Shand lands a spiteful jab.  
Shand is looking to close the distance and hits home with a firm left uppercut.  
Shand connects with a stinging left hook.  
Shand walks Jalil into a neutral corner.  Shand lands a right uppercut to the body, a right uppercut to the head and a left hook to the body.  
Shand connects with a cross.  
Shand advances into close range and lands a left hook, left uppercut and a right hook to his opponents head.

Shand advances into close range.  Shand quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a right hook followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  He then lands a double right hook to his opponents head.

Jalil throws a right uppercut, but Shand clinches his opponent.  Shand leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.

Shand lands a SAVAGE right uppercut.  JALIL IS DOWN!  He manages to get up at 9.  
Shand lands a powerful right hook.  JALIL IS HURT!  Jalil recovers before his opponent can take advantage.
