Jonathan Matherson vs Morgan Messa

Boxing Daily Report from the North Star Boxing promoted show at Alabama Theatre, Birmingham,  taking place on 23/06/2034:

The venue is mostly sold out with the fans eager to turn out for tonights fights.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Jonathan Matherson (2(2) - 0) who hails from Boston, USA and Morgan Messa(4 - 0) from Albuquerque, USA.  Matherson weighed in at 140 pounds, while Messa weighed in at 139 pounds and 13 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Kenzie Lovett, and the three ringside judges are Seth Livingston, Rex Touch and James Younie.  

Round 1: 

Matherson advances into close range and hits home with a left hook.  Matherson clinches his opponent.  Matherson pushes his forearm into Messa's face.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.

That has caused minor swelling  around the right eye.
