Alejandro Licea vs Henry McWhirter

Boxing Daily Report from the Smokin Joe promoted show at Walter Pyramid, Long Beach,  taking place on 28/06/2034:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Alejandro Licea (5(2) - 0) who hails from Los Angeles, USA and Henry McWhirter(10 - 8(1) - 2) from Raleigh, USA.  Licea weighed in at 160 pounds, while McWhirter weighed in at 159 pounds and 9 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Alastair Hankin, and the three ringside judges are Chris Jones, David Evans and John Dickie.  

Round 1: 

Licea advances into close range.  McWhirter pivots to the left of his opponent.  McWhirter throws a right hook, but Licea clinches his opponent.  As they grapple, Licea pushes his forearm into McWhirter's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Licea to stop fouling.  
Licea lands a left uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  Licea holds on to his opponent.  Licea is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Licea steps inside and drives a solid left uppercut into his opponents body.  Licea holds on to his opponent.  Licea leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks Licea's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Licea gets on the inside and digs in a left uppercut to McWhirter's body.  
McWhirter connects with a left uppercut.  
Licea closes the distance.  Licea sidesteps to the left of his opponent and hits home with a left hook.  
Licea lands a left uppercut followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
Licea lands a cross to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body.  
Licea lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
McWhirter throws a jab, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Licea hits home with a sharp left uppercut.  Licea clinches his opponent.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Licea walks McWhirter down, trapping him in the corner.  Licea lands a left uppercut to the body, and then to the head.  
Licea digs in a stinging left hook to McWhirter's body.  
Licea advances into close range and lands a left uppercut to the body, a right hook to the body and a left uppercut to the head.  
Licea is on target with a sharp left hook to his opponents body.  
Licea is looking to close the distance and is on target with a stinging left hook to his opponents ribs.  Licea ties up his opponent.  Licea tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits McWhirter's kidney. The referee separates the two fighters and warns Licea.  Licea tries to land a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Licea lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  Licea clinches his opponent.  The ref breaks Licea's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Licea steps inside and lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Licea gets on the inside and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  He continues the combination and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Licea SLAMS a FEARSOME left uppercut into his opponents face.  MCWHIRTER WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  
Licea is looking to put the pressure on now...he knows a few clean shots could mean an early night.  Licea lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head, AND DROPS MCWHIRTER!  He is back up on his feet at 5.  It looks like McWhirter has now recovered from that shot earlier.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...McWhirter's trainer is telling his fighter he is being outworked and needs to throw more.  McWhirter's trainer is advising how he could improve his defence.

Licea steps inside and attempts to land a right hook, but McWhirter sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
McWhirter tries to step out of his opponents range.  Licea lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Licea lands with a stiff jab.  
The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Licea dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Licea advances into close range and hits home with a sharp left hook.  
McWhirter tries to step out of his opponents range.  Licea lands a jab to the head, a cross to the head and a cross to the body.  
Licea is looking to close the distance and digs in a right hook to his opponents ribs.  
Licea is on target with a firm left uppercut to his opponents liver.  
McWhirter tries to keep the action at long range.  Licea tries to land an overhand right, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.  
Licea gets on the inside.  Licea pivots to the right of his opponent and is on target with a stinging left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Licea drives a right hook into McWhirter's body.  
Licea advances into close range and drives a stinging left hook into his opponents body.

Licea thinks he can end the show early....he's looking to put McWhirter away.  Licea SLAMS a FEROCIOUS cross into his opponents face.  MCWHIRTER IS SENT SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  HE ISNT GOING TO BEAT THE COUNT!  The winner by KO is Licea!
