Kian Cotts vs Matthew MacKay

Boxing Daily Report from the Simuunza Promotions promoted show at Gethin Nicholson Gym, Minneapolis,  taking place on 30/03/2034:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the USA-Minnesota Bantamweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Kian Cotts (10 - 20 - 1) who hails from Minneapolis, USA and Matthew MacKay(4 - 1) from Minneapolis, USA.  Cotts weighed in at 117 pounds and 15 ounces, while MacKay weighed in at 118 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Greg Pelle, and the three ringside judges are Phil Bertel, Phil Bertel and Harry Streblow.  

Round 1: 

MacKay sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a cross.  
MacKay steps to the outside.  Cotts lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
MacKay feints a jab, tricking Cotts into throwing a left uppercut counter.  MacKay springs the trap and counters with  a cross.  
As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as MacKay dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Cotts sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a right hook.  
MacKay digs in a right hook to his opponents ribcage.  
MacKay pivots from in front of his opponent.  MacKay attempts to land a cross, but Cotts parries the shot and counters with a right hook.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Cotts's trainer is advising how he could be more accurate.  Cotts's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.
