Michael Cowper vs Paul Sheron

Boxing Daily Report from the James Saint-Claire promoted show at John Rendall Gym, Melbourne,  taking place on 19/11/2033:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Michael The Marble Cutter Cowper (5 - 0) who hails from Brisbane, Australia and Paul Sheron(0 - 5 - 1) from Gold Coast, Australia.  Both Cowper and Sheron weighed in at 105 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Michael Pac, and the three ringside judges are Jay Sterling, Sam Luckie and George McTaggart.  

Round 1: 

Cowper is on target with a hard jab.  
Cowper steps to the outside and lands two jabs to the body, and one to the head.  
Sheron is looking to close the distance.  Cowper pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a right uppercut to the body, a left hook to the head and a right hook to the head.  
Cowper lands an overhand left followed by a cross to his opponents head.  
Sheron steps inside.  Cowper pivots to the side of his opponent and connects with a right hook.  
Cowper is looking to keep his distance.  Cowper feints a right hook, and then lands a hard jab.  
Cowper switches the action to the outside and lands two jabs to the body, and one to the head.  
Cowper lands with a solid jab.  
Cowper steps away from his opponent and lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Cowper lands a jab to Sheron's body.  
Cowper lands a jab to the body, and then to the head.  
Sheron closes the distance and walks Cowper down, trapping him on the ropes.  Cowper drives a right hook into his opponents body.  
Sheron closes the distance.  Cowper lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
Cowper feints a right hook, and then lands a cross followed by  two jabs to his opponents head.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Sheron's trainer is telling his fighter he needs to be more active or he's going to get outworked.  Sheron's trainer is advising how he could improve his defence.

Cowper feints a cross, and then finds the target with a jab.  
Cowper is looking to keep his distance and lands with a spiteful jab.  
Cowper lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Sheron gets on the inside.  Cowper drives a right uppercut into his opponents body.  
Cowper switches the action to the outside and lands a jab followed by a overhand right to his opponents head.  He then lands an overhand left followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Sheron forces Cowper to retreat onto the ropes.  Cowper lands a cross followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Sheron quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and connects with a right hook.

Sheron closes the distance.  Sheron wants to work on the inside, but accidentally clashes heads with his opponent!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Cowper dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Cowper pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a cross.  
Sheron steps inside and manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Cowper is on target with a right hook to Sheron's ribcage.  
Cowper is looking to keep his distance.  Cowper feints a left hook, and then hits the target with a stiff jab.  
Sheron closes the distance.  Cowper lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Cowper steps away from his opponent.  Cowper sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands three consecutive jabs to his opponents head.  
Cowper lands an overhand left.

Sheron closes the distance.  Cowper sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Sheron digs in a left uppercut to Cowper's body.

Cowper lands a straight 1 - 2.  He follows up the attack and lands a jab to the body, and then to the head.

The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.  Cowper has been damaged by the clash of heads.  That has caused slight swelling  around the right eye.

The ref halts the action and sends Cowper to the neutral corner.    He tells Sheron to stop fouling or face a points deduction.
