Michael Taggert vs Dave Shadden

Boxing Daily Report from the High Stake Promtions promoted show at David Curvis Gym, New York City,  taking place on 31/05/2033:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 6 round matchup are Michael Taggert (3 - 0) who hails from Tallahassee, USA and Dave Shadden(4 - 3) from Montgomery, USA.  Both Taggert and Shadden weighed in at 168 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Jacob McNeil, and the three ringside judges are Rob Abbey, Neil Sneddon and Phil Graden.  

Round 1: 

Taggert is looking to keep the action on the outside and is on target with a cross.

Taggert quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Taggert lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  Taggert clinches his opponent.  Shadden throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The referee separates the two fighters and warns Shadden.  
Shadden tries to land a jab, but Taggert sidesteps and counters with a right hook.  
Taggert throws a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
Taggert sidesteps to the left of his opponent and finds the target with a jab.

Taggert steps inside.  Taggert voluntarily retreats back onto the ropes...he waves his opponent in!  Shadden steps in throwing power shots but is unable to land cleanly.  
Taggert tries to keep the action at long range.  Shadden quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Taggert hits the target with a solid jab.  
Taggert is looking to close the distance and lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.

Taggert throws a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
Taggert switches the action to the outside and finds the target with a jab.  
Taggert closes the distance.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Taggert dabs at his face checking for damage.  Taggert has come off worse after that clash of heads.  That has caused slight swelling  around the right eye.
