John Strom vs Phil Whitton

Boxing Daily Report from the AI USA-Illinois promoted show at Dan Hilson Gym, Rockford,  taking place on 10/04/2033:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a final eliminator for the USA-Illinois Lightweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are John Strom (20 - 16(3) - 7) who hails from Chicago, USA and Phil Whitton(9 - 8(1) - 4) from Chicago, USA.  Both Strom and Whitton weighed in at 135 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Jack Fiddes, and the three ringside judges are Phil Peter, Harry Comb and David Ridall.  

Round 1: 

Strom closes the distance.  Whitton pivots to the left of his opponent.  Strom lands a right hook.  
Whitton hits home with a left uppercut.  
Strom steps back and leans on the ropes with his guard up.  Whitton accepts the invitation, throwing powerful combos, but is unable to land anything on Strom.
