Audric Giroud vs Marvel du Gast

Boxing Daily Report from the Kanda Promotions promoted show at Surrey Erving, Surrey,  taking place on 16/10/2031:

Clearly Kanda Promotions have made a mistake booking this venue with less than half the tickets sold, including those handed out as prizes by Boxing Daily.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Canada-British Columbia Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Audric Giroud (10 - 8(4) - 5) who hails from Burnaby, Canada and Marvel du Gast(6(1) - 0) from Burnaby, Canada.  Giroud weighed in at 161 pounds And 7 ounces, while du Gast weighed in at 160 pounds.    As Giroud came in over the weight limit, only his opponent will be able to compete for the final eliminator position tonight.  
The referee tonight is Paul Trott, and the three ringside judges are Michael Crosbie, Zachary Kenna and Spencer Clary.  

Round 1: 

Giroud steps away from his opponent and lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.  
du Gast drives a firm left hook into his opponents liver.  
du Gast manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  du Gast pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  
du Gast hits home with a firm left hook.  
du Gast tries to keep the action at long range.  du Gast feints a right hook, and then lands an overhand right.  
du Gast is looking to close the distance.  du Gast pivots to the side of his opponent and lands three consecutive left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Giroud tries to keep the action at long range and lands a cross.  
du Gast feints a jab, and then lands a stinging cross.  
Giroud hits home with an overhand left.  
du Gast closes the distance and drives a right hook into Giroud's ribcage.

du Gast lands a sharp jab.  
du Gast sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Giroud's trainer is suggesting ways of getting through to his opponent.  Giroud's trainer is telling his fighter to increase his workrate.  Giroud's trainer is passing on some tactical advice.

du Gast pivots to the left of his opponent.  Giroud tries to land a right hook, but du Gast dodges the shot and counters with a sharp left uppercut.  
du Gast hits home with a left uppercut.  
du Gast sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
du Gast digs in a stinging right hook to Giroud's ribcage.  As du Gast tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Giroud dabs at his face checking for damage.  
du Gast lands a left uppercut to the head, a right uppercut to the body and a left uppercut to the body.

du Gast steps to the outside.  du Gast quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands with a ramrod jab.  
du Gast is looking to close the distance.  du Gast quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head.  
du Gast pivots to the side of his opponent and connects with a left hook.  
du Gast is on target with a left hook to his opponents liver.  du Gast tries to land a left hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right hook.

He follows up the attack and lands a left uppercut followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  Giroud recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
du Gast pivots to the side of his opponent.  As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.    That accidental headbutt has resulted in some damage to du Gast.  That has caused slight swelling  around the right eye.

du Gast pivots from in front of his opponent and is on target with a mean left hook.  GIROUD IS HURT!  Giroud quickly recovers.

du Gast lands two right hooks to his opponents ribs.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!
