Noah Shiels vs Jay Costain

Boxing Daily Report from the Simasiku Promotions promoted show at Simasiku Gym, Auckland,  taking place on 27/10/2031:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the New Zealand Super Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Prime, the two fighters competing in this 12 round matchup are Noah Shiels (14 - 14(1) - 1) who hails from Manukau, New Zealand and Jay Costain(20(5) - 6(1) - 3) from Waitakere, New Zealand.  Both Shiels and Costain weighed in at 168 pounds.  
The referee tonight is James Woodburn, and the three ringside judges are Louis Paipa, Joey Bridgeforth and Richie Seay.  

Round 1: 

Costain closes the distance.  As Costain tries to work on the inside, the fighters heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Shiels dabs at his face checking for damage.  
Costain closes the distance and lands a right hook, left hook and a right hook to his opponents head.  Costain clinches his opponent.  Costain is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Costain to stop fouling.  
Shiels tries to land a jab, but Costain slips the shot and counters with a firm right uppercut.  
Shiels switches the action to the outside.  Shiels sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Costain lands a spiteful jab.  
Costain lands a right uppercut to the head, a left hook to the body and a right hook to the body.

Costain gets on the inside and manages to force Shiels onto the ropes.  Costain lands a right hook to the body followed by a right uppercut to the head.
