Rodrigo Orantes vs Diego Taveras

Boxing Daily Report from the AI Mexico-Nuevo Leon promoted show at Edmundo Aja Gym, Monterrey,  taking place on 14/09/2031:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Mexico-Nuevo Leon Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Rodrigo Orantes (14(5) - 1) who hails from San Nicolas de los Garza, Mexico and Diego Taveras(11 - 6(2) - 4) from Monterrey, Mexico.  Both Orantes and Taveras weighed in at 160 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Santiago Bilbao, and the three ringside judges are Cortez Gloria, Juan Velasquez and Carlos Benavente.  

Round 1: 

Taveras feints a cross, but Orantes ignores the feint and responds with a solid left hook.  
Taveras gets on the inside.  Orantes lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Taveras steps away from his opponent.  Orantes lands an overhand right to the head followed by a jab to the body.  
Orantes lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Orantes lands a left hook to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body.  
Orantes walks Taveras into the corner.  Orantes lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a left hook to the head.  
Orantes pivots from in front of his opponent and drives a right uppercut into his opponents body.  
Orantes hits home with a left hook.  
Orantes digs in a left hook to his opponents ribs.  Orantes holds on to his opponent.  Orantes throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. Orantes pushes his forearm into Taveras's face.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Orantes to stop fouling.  
Orantes lands a left uppercut followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Orantes lands a left hook to the head, a right hook to the head and a left hook to the body.  Orantes clinches his opponent.  Orantes leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. Orantes pushes his forearm into Taveras's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Orantes.  
Orantes quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a left hook, right hook and a left hook to his opponents head.  
Orantes pivots to the right of his opponent.  Orantes is on target with a left uppercut to Taveras's body.  Orantes holds on to his opponent.  Orantes is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Orantes sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Taveras tries to land a right hook, but Orantes parries the shot and counters with a stinging right hook.  
Orantes pivots from in front of his opponent.  Orantes attempts to land a right hook, but Taveras sidesteps and counters with a right uppercut.  
Orantes advances into close range.  Orantes steps back and leans on the ropes with his guard up.  Taveras attempts to land a left hook, but Orantes dodges the shot and counters with a sharp left hook.  
Taveras connects with a right uppercut.  
Orantes closes the distance.  Taveras pivots from in front of his opponent.  Taveras tries to land a left hook, but Orantes sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
Taveras quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Taveras throws a left hook, but Orantes ties up his opponent.  Orantes leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Orantes digs in a solid left hook to Taveras's body.  
Orantes lands a cross followed by a right hook to his opponents head.  
Orantes is looking to close the distance and connects with a right hook.  
Taveras sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Orantes hits home with a cross.  
Orantes is looking to close the distance.  Taveras pivots to the left of his opponent.  Orantes is on target with a hurtful left hook.  TAVERAS IS HURT!  
Orantes knows Taveras is hurt...he is putting the pressure on now, looking for the stoppage.  Orantes lands a right hook, right uppercut and a cross to his opponents head.  He continues the combination and lands a left hook, left uppercut and a cross to his opponents head, AND KNOCKS TAVERAS DOWN!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 7.

Orantes steps inside and lands a HUGE left uppercut.  TAVERAS WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  
Orantes is really starting to turn up the heat!  He senses a stoppage here.  Orantes is on target with a WICKED left uppercut.  TAVERAS IS SENT SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He beats the count, getting up at 6.  
Orantes lands a right uppercut followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head, AND TAVERAS IS DOWN!  He unsteadily tries to get up but is unable to beat the 10 count!  The winner by KO is Orantes!
