Leighton Newman vs Ian Atcheson

Boxing Daily Report from the Chanel Grady promoted show at Edmonton Notte, Edmonton,  taking place on 16/08/2030:

There are a few empty seats out here tonight, but this is a respectable turnout for the show.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  This is a semi final eliminator for the Canada-Alberta Super Middleweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Leighton Newman (13 - 7 - 1) who hails from Calgary, Canada and Ian Atcheson(7 - 8 - 3) from Calgary, Canada.  Newman weighed in at 168 pounds, while Atcheson weighed in at 167 pounds and 3 ounces.  
The referee tonight is Oscar Lewis, and the three ringside judges are Chris Crear, Wayne Gall and John Haddow.

The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Atcheson dabs at his face checking for damage.    That accidental headbutt has resulted in some damage to Atcheson.  That has caused slight swelling  around the right eye.
