Hernan Tavera vs Cortez Cristobal

Boxing Daily Report from the Ntshangase Promotions promoted show at Valencia Hermosillo, Valencia,  taking place on 02/01/2030:

There are plenty of empty seats out here tonight, with the show nowhere near close to selling out.  
Next up is the main event of the show.  This is a mandatory fight for the Venezuela-Carabobo Bantamweight title.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance and those watching live on Meridiano TV, the two fighters competing in this 10 round matchup are Hernan Tavera (20(10) - 2) who hails from Valencia, Venezuela and Cortez Cristobal(14 - 7 - 2) from Valencia, Venezuela.  Both Tavera and Cristobal weighed in at 118 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Carlos Hernando, and the three ringside judges are Xabat Valentin, Ponce Avena and Marco Torrico.  

Round 1: 

Tavera steps inside and hits home with a solid left hook.  Tavera clinches his opponent.  Tavera is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee warns Tavera and breaks the clinch.  
Cristobal throws a left hook, but Tavera ties up his opponent.  Tavera leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.

The two boxers are fighting in-close, but their heads clash!  The ref acknowledges the accidental headclash but allows the action to continue.    It looks like the clash of heads has caused some damage to Cristobal.  That has caused slight swelling  around the left eye.

Tavera is looking to put the pressure on now...he knows a few clean shots could mean an early night.  Tavera lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents body.  He then lands a left hook, right uppercut and a left uppercut to his opponents body, AND DOWN GOES CRISTOBAL!  He is back up on his feet at 4.  Cristobal now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.
