Charles Leiper vs Waqar Tabet

Boxing Daily Report from the Smoking Joe promoted show at Oracle Arena, Oakland,  taking place on 09/11/2028:

The venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have one of the supporting contests of this show.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 8 round matchup are Charles Leiper (8(4) - 1) who hails from Saskatoon, Canada and Waqar Tabet(19 - 6 - 1) from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.  Both Leiper and Tabet weighed in at 154 pounds.  
The referee tonight is Peter Ronald, and the three ringside judges are Ian Darling, Dai Kerwood and Chris Morgan.  

Round 1: 

Tabet connects with a stinging cross.  
Leiper finds the target with a jab.

As the two fighters work on the inside, their heads come together!  The ref does not appear to have noticed the clash as Tabet dabs at his face checking for damage.  Tabet has taken some damage there.  That has caused slight swelling  around the left eye.

Leiper attempts to land a cross, but Tabet sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Tabet gets on the inside.  Leiper hits home with a left uppercut.

Leiper feints a right, and then lands a jab, cross and an overhand right to his opponents head.

Leiper tries to keep the action at long range and lands a cross followed by a overhand right to his opponents head, AND TABET IS KNOCKED DOWN!  He beats the count, getting up at 6.  
Leiper is looking for the shot to finish his opponent.  Leiper lands a left uppercut followed by a cross to his opponents head.  He continues the combination and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head, AND KNOCKS TABET DOWN!  He tries to rise but his legs dont respond...the count reaches 10!  The winner by KO is Leiper!
