Mark Kay vs Ramirez Aguiniga

Boxing Daily Report from the Americas Boxing Championships 2038,  taking place on 09/01/2038 from Zapopan, Mexico:

The Zapopan venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Round of 16 fight in the Flyweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Mark Kay (12 - 11) who hails from Ottawa, Canada and Ramirez Aguiniga(44(4) - 24(2)) from San Jose, Costa Rica.  

Round 1: 

Aguiniga steps inside and digs in a firm left hook to his opponents body.  
Kay steps away from his opponent and hits home with a ramrod jab.  Kay throws a cross, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a firm cross.  
Aguiniga lands a right hook to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head.  
Aguiniga gets on the inside and manouvers Kay onto the ropes.  Aguiniga is on target with a weighty right hook to Kay's body.  KAY WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Kay quickly recovers. 
Kay throws a left hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a firm cross.  
Kay switches the action to the outside and connects with a solid cross.  Kay attempts to land an overhand left, but Aguiniga slips the shot and counters with a stinging right hook.  
Aguiniga lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Aguiniga forces Kay to back into a neutral corner.  Aguiniga is on target with a left hook.  Aguiniga clinches his opponent.  Aguiniga pushes his forearm into Kay's face.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Aguiniga lands a right hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents body.  Aguiniga ties up his opponent.  Aguiniga is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee warns Aguiniga and breaks the clinch.  
Kay connects with a sharp left hook.  Aguiniga clinches his opponent.  Aguiniga is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Aguiniga lands a left uppercut to the head, a right hook to the body and a left uppercut to the body.  HE HAS HIS OPPONENT IN TROUBLE!  Kay almost instantly recovers. 
Kay throws a left uppercut, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a solid right uppercut.  
Aguiniga is on target with a left hook.  Aguiniga clinches his opponent.  Kay is using his forearm in the clinch.  The ref halts the action and breaks the clinch.  He lectures Kay about fouling.  
Aguiniga sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Kay throws a left hook, but Aguiniga holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Kay pushes his forearm into Aguiniga's face.  The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Aguiniga connects with a MASSIVE right hook.  KAY IS DOWN!  He is back up on his feet at 4.  
Aguiniga lands a left hook to the body, and then to the head, AND KAY IS KNOCKED DOWN!  He beats the count, getting up at 5.  
Kay is on target with a solid left hook.  
Aguiniga closes the distance and forces Kay to retreat into the red corner.  Aguiniga is on target with a right hook to his opponents body.  
Aguiniga steps inside and lands a left hook.  
Aguiniga lands a right uppercut to the body, and then to the head.  THAT HURT HIS OPPONENT!  Kay recovers before his opponent can take advantage. 
Aguiniga walks Kay down, trapping him on the ropes.  Aguiniga is on target with a firm right hook to Kay's body.

Kay finds the target with a jab.  
Aguiniga forces Kay to back into the ropes.  Aguiniga sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Aguiniga lands a left uppercut followed by a right hook to his opponents body.  Aguiniga clinches his opponent.  Aguiniga hits his opponent with a kidney shot within the clinch. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Kay tries to keep the action at long range.  Kay feints a right hook, and then lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Aguiniga sidesteps to the left of his opponent and drives a solid left hook into his opponents body.  
Kay is looking to keep the action on the outside and finds the target with a solid jab.  
Kay tries to keep the action at long range.  Aguiniga lands a cross followed by a overhand left to his opponents head.  
Aguiniga steps inside.  Kay throws a left hook, but Aguiniga ties up his opponent.  Aguiniga leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks Aguiniga's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Aguiniga lands a sharp left hook.  
Kay is looking to keep his distance and tries to land a jab, but Aguiniga blocks the shot and counters with a FEARSOME left hook.  KAY IS HURT!  
Aguiniga lands two consecutive left uppercuts to his opponents head, AND KNOCKS KAY DOWN!  He unsteadily tries to get up but is unable to beat the 10 count!  The winner by KO is Aguiniga!
