Robert Fylan vs John Gillis

Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 29/08/2037 from New York City, USA:

The New York City venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Robert Fylan (49 - 4) who hails from New York City, USA and John Gillis(0 - 2) from Hoover, USA.  

Round 1: 

Fylan steps inside.  Fylan pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a left hook to the head, a right hook to the head and a left uppercut to the body.  
Fylan drops his guard, and stalks his opponent...he wants his opponent to throw a shot.  Gillis tries to land a jab, but Fylan sidesteps and counters with a stinging cross.  
Fylan manouvers Gillis onto the ropes.  Fylan sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Gillis tries to land a left hook, but Fylan sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
Fylan lands a left hook to the head, a right hook to the head and a right hook to the body.  
Fylan lands a double right hook to his opponents head.  
Gillis lands a jab.  
Fylan advances into close range.  Fylan pivots to the side of his opponent and lands three consecutive left hooks to his opponents head.  
Fylan lands a cross to the head followed by a right uppercut to the body.  
Fylan closes the distance and digs in a left hook to his opponents body.  
Fylan attempts to land a left hook, but Gillis blocks the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Fylan pivots from in front of his opponent and lands two left hooks to his opponents ribs.  
Fylan drives a firm left uppercut into his opponents ribs.  
Fylan sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a right uppercut followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Gillis lands a jab.  Gillis throws an uppercut to the body, but lands well below the belt!  The ref ignores Fylan's complaints and signals for the action to continue.  
Fylan advances into close range and lands a sharp left hook.  
Gillis switches the action to the outside and hits home with a cross.  
Fylan throws a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left hook.  
Fylan steps inside.  Fylan pivots from in front of his opponent.  Gillis throws a left hook, but Fylan holds on to his opponent.  Fylan uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Gillis behind the head. The ref breaks Fylan's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  
Fylan sidesteps to the right of his opponent, but Gillis hits home with a left hook.  
Fylan steps inside.  Fylan pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Fylan's trainer is telling his fighter to play it safe for the remainder of the fight.

Fylan manouvers Gillis into the red corner.  Fylan snaps his opponents head back with a ramrod jab.  
Fylan lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Gillis finds the target with a jab.  
Fylan tries to keep the action at long range.  Fylan sidesteps to the right of his opponent and lands a jab to the body, and then to the head.  
Fylan lands a straight 1 - 2.
