Chris Gorrie vs John Stephenson

Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 04/07/2037 from Brisbane, Australia:

The Brisbane venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Chris Gorrie (49 - 18) who hails from Sunshine Coast, Australia and John Stephenson(0 - 1) from Melbourne, Australia.  

Round 1: 

Stephenson advances into close range.  Gorrie lands a right uppercut followed by  two left hooks to his opponents head.  
Gorrie tries to keep the action at long range.  Gorrie feints a left hook, and then lands three consecutive jabs to his opponents head.  
Stephenson gets on the inside and manouvers Gorrie onto the ropes.  Gorrie digs in a stinging right hook to his opponents body.  
Stephenson gets on the inside.  Gorrie drives a right uppercut into Stephenson's body.  
Gorrie lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Gorrie snaps his opponents head back with a sharp jab.  
Gorrie steps to the outside and lands an overhand right to the head followed by a jab to the body.  
Gorrie steps to the outside.  Gorrie sidesteps to the right of his opponent.  Gorrie lands a double jab to his opponents head.  Gorrie throws a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left hook.  
Gorrie lands an overhand right.  
Gorrie connects with a firm cross.  
Gorrie feints a jab, but Stephenson does not fall for it and is on target with a left hook.  
Stephenson gets on the inside and walks his opponent down, trapping him on the ropes.  Gorrie lands a firm left hook.  
Stephenson hits home with a stinging jab.  
Stephenson feints a cross, but Gorrie ignores the feint and responds with a cross.  
Gorrie is looking to keep his distance.  Stephenson attempts to land a jab, but Gorrie sidesteps and counters with a right hook.  
Gorrie is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Gorrie waits at the mid-range with a lowered guard, waiting for his opponent to throw a punch.  Stephenson tries to land a jab, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Gorrie sidesteps to the left of his opponent and lands a jab.  
Stephenson stands off with low guard waiting for his opponent to launch an attack.  Gorrie drives a solid left hook into his opponents body.  
Stephenson is looking to close the distance and tries to land a left hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left hook.  
Gorrie tries to land a jab, but Stephenson dodges the shot and counters with a left hook to his opponents body.  
Stephenson forces Gorrie to back into the ropes.  Stephenson pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a left hook to the body followed by a cross to the head.

Stephenson walks Gorrie down, trapping him in a neutral corner.  Gorrie is on target with a cross.  
Gorrie finds the target with a sharp jab.  
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Stephenson's trainer is telling his fighter he must go to war on his opponent!

Gorrie lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
Stephenson steps inside.  Gorrie throws a right hook, but is unable to find the target.  Gorrie holds on to his opponent.  As they grapple, Stephenson pushes his forearm into Gorrie's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Stephenson.  
Gorrie lands two overhand right's to the head followed by a jab to the body.  
Gorrie lands a jab, cross and a jab to his opponents head.  
Stephenson sidesteps to the left of his opponent and is on target with a left hook to Gorrie's ribs.  
Gorrie leans back on the ropes...he waves his opponent in!  Stephenson throws a right hook, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a MASSIVE right uppercut.  STEPHENSON HAS BEEN KNOCKED DOWN!  He manages to get up at 4.  
Gorrie hits home with an overhand left.
