Ian Edington vs Francisco Basto

Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 14/06/2037 from Sheffield, UK:

The Sheffield venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Ian Edington (3 - 1) who hails from Peterborough, UK and Francisco Basto(1 - 4) from El Alto, Bolivia.  

Round 1: 

Edington steps to the outside.  Basto is on target with an overhand left.  
Edington tries to keep the action at long range.  Basto tries to land a cross, but Edington sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
Basto attempts to land a jab, but Edington slips the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Edington hits home with a left hook.  
Basto cuts off the ring, trapping Edington on the ropes.  Edington strikes his opponents body with a jab.  
Edington connects with a cross.  
Edington lands an overhand left.  
Basto walks his opponent onto the ropes.  Basto quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and is on target with a right uppercut.  
Basto advances into close range.  Basto pivots from in front of his opponent, but Edington digs in a left uppercut to Basto's liver.  
Edington connects with a cross.  
Basto throws a short cross to the body, but lands low!  The ref stops the action and gives Edington time to recover.  
Basto lands a left uppercut followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Edington's trainer is telling his fighter to play it safe for the remainder of the fight.

Edington switches the action to the outside and lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Basto tries to land a jab, but Edington dodges the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Edington hits home with a solid jab.  
Basto is on target with a cross to Edington's body.  
Edington is looking to keep his distance and tries to land a jab, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut to his opponents body.  
Edington drives a jab into Basto's body.

Basto closes the distance and manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Edington lands a left hook.

Edington steps to the outside.  Edington feints a left, and then hits home with a cross.  
Basto gets on the inside and walks his opponent down, trapping him in the corner.  Edington goes for the bodyshot, but lands south of the border!  The ref stops the action.  The ref sends Basto to the neutral corner.  He warns Edington that continued fouling will result in a point deduction.  
Basto closes the distance.  Edington is on target with a right hook.  
Basto steps inside.  Edington hits home with a right hook.
