Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 04/10/2036 from Minneapolis, USA:

The Minneapolis venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are David Swanson (34(1) - 7) who hails from Minneapolis, USA and Jesus Rodriguez(1 - 0) from Barcelona, Venezuela.  

Round 1: 

Swanson is looking to close the distance and is on target with a left uppercut.  Swanson ties up his opponent.  Swanson hits his opponent with a kidney shot within the clinch. As they grapple, Rodriguez pushes his forearm into Swanson's face.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Rodriguez.  
Rodriguez connects with an overhand left.  
Rodriguez throws a cross, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right hook.  
Rodriguez tries to step out of his opponents range and throws a cross, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Swanson gets on the inside and lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head.

Swanson lands a right uppercut to the body followed by a left uppercut to the head.  Swanson clinches his opponent.  Rodriguez is leaning on his opponent in the clinch. Swanson pushes his forearm into Rodriguez's face.  The referee warns Swanson and breaks the clinch.  
Swanson lands a cross followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Rodriguez steps to the outside and lands a stinging overhand left.  
Swanson gets on the inside and hits home with a stinging right hook.  Swanson ties up his opponent.  Swanson leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref separates the two fighters.  Swanson throws a right hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a right hook.

Rodriguez is looking to keep the action on the outside and finds the target with a stinging jab.

Swanson closes the distance and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents body, AND HIS OPPONENT IS HURT!  
The right shot from Swanson could be enough to force the stoppage!  Swanson is on target with a weighty right hook to his opponents body.  RODRIGUEZ IS DOWN!  He manages to get up at 5.  It looks like Rodriguez has now recovered from that earlier bodyshot.  
Swanson quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Swanson digs in a solid right uppercut to his opponents body.  Swanson clinches his opponent.  Rodriguez leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. Rodriguez tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Swanson behind the head. The referee separates the two fighters and warns Rodriguez.

Swanson sidesteps to the left of his opponent and hits home with a stinging right hook.

Rodriguez tries to keep the action at long range and lands a solid jab.
