Darryl Flanagan vs Rico Cueto

Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 27/09/2036 from New York City, USA:

The New York City venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Darryl Flanagan (38(1) - 9) who hails from New York City, USA and Rico Cueto(1 - 4(1)) from Honolulu, USA.  

Round 1: 

Flanagan gets on the inside and lands a left hook to the head, a right uppercut to the body and a right uppercut to the head.  
Flanagan finds the target with a solid jab.  
Flanagan steps inside.  Cueto throws a right hook, but Flanagan holds on to his opponent.  Cueto leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.

Flanagan steps inside and manouvers Cueto onto the ropes.  Flanagan pivots to the side of his opponent and lands two right hooks to the body, and one to the head.  
Flanagan lands a left hook followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  
Flanagan walks his opponent down, trapping him in a corner.  Flanagan digs in a firm right hook to Cueto's body.  
Cueto is on target with a right hook.  
Flanagan quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Cueto throws a left uppercut, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a firm left uppercut to Cueto's body.  
Flanagan throws an uppercut to the body, but lands well below the belt!  The ref ignores Cueto's complaints and signals for the action to continue.  
Flanagan lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  Flanagan ties up his opponent.  Cueto leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
Cueto throws a right hook, but Flanagan ties up his opponent.  Cueto is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee breaks the clinch and warns Cueto to stop fouling.  
Flanagan lands a left hook to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  
Cueto throws a left hook, but Flanagan clinches his opponent.  Cueto leans on his opponent using all his weight. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Flanagan connects with a left uppercut.  
Cueto throws a left hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a stinging cross.

Flanagan lands a left uppercut to the body followed by a right hook to the head.  Flanagan clinches his opponent.  Flanagan leans on his opponent trying to wear him down. The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Flanagan lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  Flanagan holds on to his opponent.  Flanagan tries to make the space to throw a hook, but hits Cueto behind the head. Flanagan uses his free hand to throw a hook, but it hits Cueto behind the head. Flanagan hits his opponent with a kidney shot within the clinch. The ref separates the two fighters.  
Flanagan closes the distance.  Cueto throws a right hook, but Flanagan holds on to his opponent.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Flanagan digs in a left uppercut to his opponents body.  Flanagan clinches his opponent.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Cueto throws a left hook, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a spiteful left uppercut to his opponents body.  CUETO WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  
Flanagan manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Flanagan senses his opponent is hurt.  He is looking to stop Cueto and just needs the right shot.  Flanagan digs in a forceful right uppercut to Cueto's body.  CUETO HAS BEEN KNOCKED DOWN!  He is on his feet as the count reaches 5.  Cueto now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.  
Flanagan sidesteps to the right of his opponent and is on target with a stinging left hook to Cueto's liver.  
Flanagan hits home with a left uppercut.  
Flanagan steps inside and is on target with a left hook to Cueto's body.  
Flanagan is on target with a left hook.  
Cueto throws a short cross to the body, but lands low!  The ref stops the action and gives Flanagan time to recover.  
Cueto sidesteps to the left of his opponent, but Flanagan crashes a hurtful left hook to Cueto's ribs.  CUETO WAS STUNNED BY THAT SHOT!  Cueto quickly recovers. 
Flanagan lands a jab to the head followed by a left hook to the body, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  
Cueto closes the distance.  Flanagan knows it could take just a few clean shots to force the stoppage.  Flanagan crashes a big right hook to his opponents ribs.  DOWN GOES CUETO!  He is back up on his feet at 6.  Cueto now seems to have recovered from the bodyshot.

Flanagan is looking to close the distance and lands a right hook to the head, a left hook to the body and a right hook to the head.  
Flanagan digs in a weighty left uppercut to his opponents body.  CUETO IS DROPPED TO THE CANVAS!  HE REMAINS ON THE CANVAS AS THE COUNT REACHES 10!  The winner by KO is Flanagan!
