Diego Escovedo vs Quico Fortes

Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 03/06/2036 from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil:

The Rio de Janeiro venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Diego Escovedo (19 - 12) who hails from Sao Goncalo, Brazil and Quico Fortes(4 - 11) from Belo Horizonte, Brazil.  

Round 1: 

Fortes is looking to close the distance and is on target with a firm left uppercut.  
Escovedo tries to land a cross, but Fortes slips the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Fortes closes the distance.  Fortes pivots from in front of his opponent and drives a right hook into his opponents ribs.  
Escovedo switches the action to the outside.  Escovedo feints a left hook, and then hits home with an overhand right.  
Escovedo lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Escovedo steps away from his opponent and lands a cross to the head, a jab to the body and a cross to the head.  
Escovedo sidesteps to the left of his opponent.  Escovedo attempts to land a jab, but Fortes sidesteps and counters with a left uppercut.  
Escovedo steps to the outside and lands a cross followed by  two jabs to his opponents head.  
Fortes is on target with a cross.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Escovedo's trainer is telling his fighter to play it safe for the remainder of the fight.

Escovedo lands a double left hook to his opponents head.  
Escovedo lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head.  
Fortes lands a right hook to the head followed by a left hook to the body.  
Escovedo is looking to keep the action on the outside.  Escovedo quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands an overhand right to the head followed by a cross to the body.  
Fortes attempts to land a jab, but Escovedo sidesteps and counters with a left hook.  
Escovedo goes for the bodyshot, but lands south of the border!  The ref stops the action and gives Fortes time to recover.  
Escovedo steps to the outside and lands a jab to his opponents body.  Escovedo tries to land a cross, but his opponent sidesteps and counters with a solid left hook.  
Fortes steps inside and walks Escovedo into the corner.  Fortes is on target with a right hook.  
Escovedo finds the target with a jab.

Fortes pivots to the left of his opponent and lands a right uppercut followed by a left uppercut to his opponents head.  
Escovedo is looking to keep his distance and connects with a cross.  
Escovedo lands a cross followed by a overhand left to his opponents head.  
Escovedo lands a jab to his opponents body.  
Escovedo switches the action to the outside and lands a cross.
