Chris Pfumbidzai vs Michael Mnkandla

Boxing Daily Report from the Zimbabwe National Finals 2036,  taking place on 26/04/2036 from Bulawayo, Zimbabwe:

The Bulawayo venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Super Heavyweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Chris Pfumbidzai (1 - 2) who hails from Bulawayo, Zimbabwe and Michael Mnkandla(7 - 3) from Chitungwiza, Zimbabwe.  

Round 1: 

Mnkandla drives a solid right hook into his opponents body.  
Mnkandla pivots from in front of his opponent.  Pfumbidzai throws a left hook, but Mnkandla ties up his opponent.  As they grapple, Pfumbidzai pushes his forearm into Mnkandla's face.  The ref separates the two fighters.  
Mnkandla is looking to keep his distance and is on target with an overhand right.  
Pfumbidzai is on target with a left hook.  
Mnkandla sidesteps to the left of his opponent and drives a right hook into his opponents body.  
Pfumbidzai throws a right hook, but his opponent blocks the shot and counters with a left uppercut.  
Pfumbidzai is looking to close the distance.  Mnkandla throws a short cross to the body, but lands low!  The ref ignores Pfumbidzai's complaints and signals for the action to continue.  
Pfumbidzai hits home with a right hook.  
Pfumbidzai switches the action to the outside and lands a firm overhand right.  
Mnkandla advances into close range.  Mnkandla pivots from in front of his opponent and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  
Mnkandla closes the distance.  Pfumbidzai hits home with a stinging left hook.  
Mnkandla closes the distance.  Mnkandla pivots to the right of his opponent.  Pfumbidzai throws a right hook, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a right hook.  
Mnkandla switches the action to the outside and lands a solid jab.  
Mnkandla gets on the inside.  Pfumbidzai throws a left hook, but Mnkandla ties up his opponent.  Mnkandla is using his forearm in the clinch.  The referee separates the two fighters and warns Mnkandla.  
Mnkandla walks Pfumbidzai into a corner.  Mnkandla hits home with a right hook.  
Pfumbidzai throws a right hook, but Mnkandla ties up his opponent.  Mnkandla throws a hook within the clinch but hits his opponent behind the head. The ref breaks the clinch and signals for the action to continue.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Mnkandla's trainer is telling his fighter he is a mile in front and not to do anything stupid.

Mnkandla feints a jab, tricking Pfumbidzai into throwing a left uppercut counter.  Mnkandla avoids the shot and counters with a cross.  
Pfumbidzai gets on the inside.  Mnkandla throws a right hook, but the shot lands on his opponents guard.  Mnkandla clinches his opponent.  The ref calls break and the two fighters separate.  
Mnkandla steps to the outside.  Mnkandla drops his guard, and stalks his opponent...he wants his opponent to throw a shot.  Pfumbidzai connects with a firm cross.  
Mnkandla quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a sharp jab.  
Pfumbidzai attempts to land a cross, but Mnkandla blocks the shot and counters with a right hook.
