Boxing Daily Report from the Guatemala National Finals 2036,  taking place on 26/03/2036 from Mixco, Guatemala:

The Mixco venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Light Welterweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Joaquin Barros (4 - 17) who hails from Mixco, Guatemala and Vidal Mejia(22 - 20) from Guatemala City, Guatemala.  

Round 1: 

Mejia feints a left, and then lands a jab to the body followed by two straights to the head.  
Mejia connects with a sharp cross.  
Mejia lands a jab followed by a right uppercut to his opponents head.  
Barros advances into close range.  Mejia lands a stinging left uppercut.  
Mejia pivots to the left of his opponent.  Mejia is on target with a jab to Barros's body.  Mejia tries to land a jab, but his opponent dodges the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Barros hits home with a left hook.  
Mejia lands a left uppercut followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Barros lands with a solid jab.  
Barros is on target with a firm left hook to Mejia's body.  
Mejia feints a jab, fooling Barros into throwing a left uppercut counter.  Mejia springs the trap, countering with  a firm left hook.  
Mejia attempts to land a jab, but Barros slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Mejia manouvers Barros onto the ropes.  Barros attempts to land a jab, but Mejia sidesteps and counters with a firm right hook.  
Mejia pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a sharp cross.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Mejia's trainer is telling his fighter he is a mile in front and not to do anything stupid.
