Boxing Daily Report from the Ecuador National Finals 2036,  taking place on 11/03/2036 from Santo Domingo, Ecuador:

The Santo Domingo venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Featherweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Diego Tome (19(2) - 7) who hails from Cuenco, Ecuador and Jeraldo Rodriguez(9 - 13) from Guayaquil, Ecuador.

Rodriguez steps inside and lands a left hook to the body followed by a right uppercut to the head.  
Tome feints a left, and then lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Tome snaps his opponents head back with a hard jab.

Rodriguez throws a left hook, but Tome clinches his opponent.  Rodriguez pushes his forearm into Tome's face.  The referee warns Rodriguez and breaks the clinch.

Tome lands a straight 1 - 2.  
Tome lands three consecutive overhand lefts to his opponents head, AND SENDS RODRIGUEZ SPRAWLING TO THE CANVAS!  He manages to get up at 9.  
Tome knows it could take just a few clean shots to force the stoppage.  Tome lands a left hook followed by a right hook to his opponents head, AND RODRIGUEZ IS KNOCKED DOWN!  He is back up on his feet at 6.  It looks like Rodriguez has now recovered from that shot earlier.
