Boxing Daily Report from the Americas Boxing Championships 2036,  taking place on 09/01/2036 from Guayaquil, Ecuador:

The Guayaquil venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Round of 16 fight in the Middleweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Angel Rio (17 - 12(1)) who hails from Rosario, Argentina and Franco Melendez(45(7) - 13) from San Salvador, El Salvador.

The ref breaks Melendez's hold and signals for the fight to continue.  Melendez attempts to land a right hook, but Rio slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Melendez lands a jab to the head, a left hook to the head and a left hook to the body.  
Rio tries to step out of his opponents range and hits home with a cross.  
Melendez gets on the inside and lands a right hook followed by a left hook to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands a left uppercut to the head followed by a right hook to the body.  
Melendez lands a right hook to the body, and then to the head, AND STUNS HIS OPPONENT!  
Rio is looking to keep his distance.  Melendez is looking for the shot to finish his opponent.  Melendez lands three consecutive left uppercuts to his opponents body, AND SENDS RIO TO THE CANVAS!  He is back up on his feet at 5.
