Sergei Cartaev vs Goro Funai

Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 05/12/2035 from Dushanbe, Tajikistan:

The Dushanbe venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Sergei Cartaev (3 - 0) who hails from Dushanbe, Tajikistan and Goro Funai(1 - 8(1)) from Sakai, Japan.  

Round 1: 

Cartaev lands a cross to the body, and then to the head.  
Funai is on target with a jab.  
Funai advances into close range.  Funai throws a short cross to the body, but lands low!  The ref stops the action.  The ref sends Cartaev to the neutral corner.  He warns Funai that continued fouling will result in a point deduction.  
Cartaev finds the target with a jab.  
Cartaev digs in a left hook to Funai's liver.  
Cartaev lands a double jab to his opponents head.

Cartaev is looking to keep his distance and lands a jab followed by a overhand right to his opponents head.  He follows up the attack and lands a cross followed by a jab to his opponents head.  
Funai hits home with a left hook.  
Cartaev quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and lands a cross.  
Cartaev switches the action to the outside and attempts to land a cross, but Funai slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Funai tries to land a jab, but Cartaev sidesteps and counters with a cross.  
At the end of Round 2, lets listen in on the corners...Cartaev's trainer is telling his fighter he is winning comfortably and should get on his bike for the remainder of the fight.  Funai's trainer is telling his fighter he needs a knockout to win!
