Angel Montano vs Paco Monforte

Boxing Daily Report from the Colombia National Finals 2031,  taking place on 11/03/2031 from Bello, Colombia:

The Bello venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Flyweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Angel Montano (10 - 15) who hails from Bogota, Colombia and Paco Monforte(38(1) - 8(1)) from Medellin, Colombia.  

Round 1: 

Monforte steps inside.  Monforte quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and is on target with a stinging left hook.

Montano tries to keep the action at long range.  Monforte is on target with a jab.

Monforte pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a left hook to the body, a right hook to the head and a right hook to the body.  
Montano is looking to keep the action on the outside and is on target with a stinging jab.  Montano attempts to land a cross, but Monforte slips the shot and counters with a cross.  
Monforte connects with a stinging left hook.  
Monforte is looking to close the distance and is on target with a left hook to his opponents liver.  
Monforte closes the distance.  Monforte pivots to the right of his opponent, but Montano connects with a left hook.  
Montano tries to step out of his opponents range.  Monforte lands with a solid jab.  
Montano switches the action to the outside.  Monforte lands a cross.  
Monforte finds the target with a jab.  
Monforte gets on the inside.  Monforte pivots to the left of his opponent, but Montano hits home with a left uppercut.  
Monforte pivots to the left of his opponent and is on target with a left hook.  
Monforte pivots to the right of his opponent, but Montano hits home with a solid right hook.  
Monforte lands a left hook to the body, a right hook to the head and a right uppercut to the body.  
Monforte forces Montano to retreat onto the ropes.  Monforte drives a right uppercut into Montano's body.  
Montano switches the action to the outside and lands a double jab to his opponents head.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Monforte's trainer is telling his fighter he is winning comfortably and should get on his bike for the remainder of the fight.
