Boxing Daily Report from the Bahamas National Finals 2028,  taking place on 11/03/2028 from Nassau, Bahamas:

The Nassau venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  
Next up we have a Quarter Final fight in the Bantamweight divison.  

Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Davie Blethen (8 - 9) who hails from Nassau, Bahamas and Phil Lawter(8 - 8(1)) from Nassau, Bahamas.

Lawter manouvers his opponent onto the ropes.  Lawter pivots to the side of his opponent and lands a left hook to the body followed by a cross to the head.  
Lawter closes the distance.  Lawter pivots to the right of his opponent and is on target with a right uppercut to his opponents body.  
Lawter pivots to the side of his opponent.  Blethen throws a jab, but his opponent parries the shot and counters with a right uppercut.  
Blethen digs in a left hook to his opponents body.  
Lawter finds the target with a jab.  
Lawter leans back on the ropes...he waves his opponent in!  Blethen tries to tag Lawter on the ropes, but his opponent blocks every shot!  Blethen hits home with a left uppercut.  
Blethen goes for the bodyshot, but lands south of the border!  The ref ignores Lawter's complaints and signals for the action to continue.  
Blethen sidesteps to the left of his opponent, but Lawter is on target with a solid jab.  
Blethen lands a jab, cross and a jab to his opponents head.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Lawter's trainer is advising his fighter to keep his distance and coast to the win.
