Oliver Gowan vs Dave Skillen

Boxing Daily Report from the Amateur Boxing Club Challenge,  taking place on 16/04/2039 from Miami, USA:

The Miami venue is completely packed out with the fans turning out in force to watch the fights on offer tonight.  


Looking to impress the boxing fans in attendance, the two fighters competing in this 3 round matchup are Oliver Gowan (7 - 3) who hails from Orlando, USA and Dave Skillen(0 - 1) from Newark, USA.  

Round 1: 

Skillen connects with a sharp overhand left.  
Skillen advances into close range.  Gowan connects with a right hook.  
Skillen sidesteps to the right of his opponent and connects with a solid cross.  
Skillen steps inside.  Skillen quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent and is on target with a left hook to Gowan's body.  
Gowan switches the action to the outside and lands a jab followed by a overhand left to his opponents head.  
Skillen advances into close range and walks Gowan down, trapping him on the ropes.  Gowan connects with a right hook.  
Gowan is looking to keep his distance.  Skillen tries to land a cross, but his opponent slips the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Skillen quickly sidesteps from in front of his opponent.  Gowan attempts to land a right hook, but Skillen blocks the shot and counters with a solid right uppercut.  
Gowan attempts to land a jab, but Skillen slips the shot and counters with a left hook.  
Skillen attempts to land an uppercut to the solar plexus, but he strays low!  The ref stops the action and gives Gowan time to recover.  
Gowan switches the action to the outside and lands two consecutive straights to his opponents head.

Skillen cuts off the ring, trapping Gowan on the ropes.  Gowan hits the target with a solid jab.  
Skillen drives a left hook into Gowan's body.  
Skillen forces Gowan to retreat onto the ropes.  Skillen sidesteps to the left of his opponent, but Gowan is on target with a solid right hook to his opponents body.  
At the end of Round 1, lets listen in on the corners...Gowan's trainer is advising his fighter to keep his distance and coast to the win.
